How to Protect Your Base

The fail state in Cat Invasion is the wooden base, not your health bar. Meme cats path to the wood, chew it, and end the invasion even if your avatar is still standing on the ashes. This page is the defense manual: walls, builders, turrets, pause repairs, and the coin mistakes that look like building while the gate dies. For button locations, use How to Play. For the first-hour spend order, use Getting Started. For the range ladder that actually keeps cats off the boards, tick the upgrade planner.

OneBed Studio released the game on December 25, 2025 as a free Roblox wave-defense (place 78496323189083, also listed as Cat Invaders). You can hold the base solo or with an online group of up to 18. Coins are the in-run wallet that pays for walls and turrets. Gold is the meta wallet; it does not patch a hole you ignored for ten waves. If you came here from the lobby looking for idle Gold, that is a different Roblox place — the AFK Zone Gold Guide — and it will not repair this gate.

The wooden base is the scoreboard

Cats do not need to kill you to win. They need to finish the structure. Walls add hit points to that structure. Builders spend coins to keep those walls standing after a chew. Turrets add automatic chip damage on climb paths you cannot stare at while you kite. None of those three replace a weapon that spawn-kills the pack.

Watch the wood, not your kill feed. If the boards are healthy and coins are piling, you are defending correctly even if the turret line still looks thin. If the boards are splinters and you have a maxed pillow, you inverted the shop.

The clip on this page is a public build-to-survive session, not a patch-notes dump. Use it for the feel of the lane, the pause habit, and the hazards called out on camera. Do not treat a crate roll in that footage as a complete loot table.

Walls, builders, and the brick-wall name

Walls and builders live on the pause shop next to weapons, armor, food, and merchant potions. Buy them when cats are actually landing on the wood. Early waves that die in the spawn-kill zone do not need a full rebuild. Late waves that climb multiple faces do.

Do not confuse the brick wall armor piece with placing more boards. Brick wall sits around 1,750 coins on the body-armor row, after chain mail around 500 and knight around 1,000. It is a you-upgrade, not a gate-upgrade. The expensive armor around 3,000 coins is still the Floppa buy at the wave 50 window. Plasma Armor is a 79 Robux convenience pass; it does not rebuild chewed wood.

Builders are the repair button. If the gate is taking real damage and you have coins, pause and pay the builders instead of swinging at a cat that already reached the boards. A builder you never buy is a wall you already paid for, decaying in real time.

When not to dump coins into walls

The wave 100 route is explicit: melee until about 200 coins, swap into range (snowball toward rock), buy merchant coin boosts on sight, max range, then buy the expensive armor at wave 50. Walls are support after that weapon is online.

Dumping the first 500 coins into walls and turrets is how people arrive at Floppa in leather with no range. If cats never touch the wood, extra walls are a leak. If cats are chewing because you are still on tuna, extra walls buy seconds, not a win.

A clean rule: range first while the lane dies at spawn; walls and builders the first time you hear the wood take a real hit; turrets after you can actually place a gun that covers a climb path. Tick that order on the upgrade planner instead of improvising during a pack.

Pause to repair

You can freeze a wave to shop. That is also how you repair. Pause, spend, unpause. Shopping while cats are already on the stairs is how a repair click becomes a wipe.

A repair pause is short:

  1. Confirm the current pack is dead or the wave counter moved.
  2. Pause.
  3. If the merchant is selling a coin-boost potion, buy it. Coins fund the next wall.
  4. Pay builders if the wood is chipped. Add walls if a face is open.
  5. Place or refresh a turret only if range is already online and you have a pad that covers a climb.
  6. Unpause with a camera that can see the gate.

In a group, one player should call the pause so eighteen people are not in menus while a climber eats the boards. Medic can revive a downed teammate. Medic cannot revive a base that died during shopping.

Turrets and the +3 Turret Limit pass

Turrets are extra chip, not your DPS plan. Place them where they cover a climb you cannot stare at, then go back to shooting. An unupgraded cannon you set and forget is scenery.

Late waves become a turret problem as much as a gun problem. The +3 Turret Limit gamepass costs 119 Robux and adds slots after you already place the turrets you have. It is a weak first purchase. It is a reasonable purchase after Floppa when you are hunting badges and the map has more climb paths than guns. An extra slot with no coins is an empty pad. Prices and buy order live on the gamepasses page; confirm the live Robux number before you spend.

Public footage of crate rolls has shown sentry names such as energy sentry and dual sentry. Treat those as filmed crate outcomes, not a complete turret catalog. If a crate drops a sentry type, place it on a climb path. Do not wait twenty waves for a named roll while the wood is already open.

Green is bad: floor hazards and crates

The build-to-survive footage on this page calls out green floor as a hazard: green is bad, jump over it. Do not stand in the green patch while you repair. Do not kite through it because it looks like a safe paint job. Jump it, then get your camera back on the gate.

Green crates are a different object. They are in-run loot. Pause or clear the lane, then loot. Walking off the gate for a crate while a fat cat is on the boards is how named-cat wipes start. If a crate roll in public footage includes a sentry, that is a bonus gun, not a reason to abandon the wood.

Food (fish, tuna, hearts) keeps you standing so you can keep shooting. It does not heal the base. Eat after a bad hit. Do not empty the food stack the second it appears and then have nothing for Floppa lasers.

Floppa, lasers, and the gate

Floppa usually lands around wave 50 and uses lasers. Hiding in the gate lets those lasers chew the structure you are supposed to protect. Kite near the boss on range, keep builders on the walls between beams, and buy the ~3,000-coin armor at that window. Details sit on How to Beat Floppa. The same range habit is what you ride toward wave 100.

A full-health avatar standing on ashes does not get the badge. If builders are screaming, spend a pause on walls, then go back to shooting Floppa. The fail state did not change because a named cat arrived.

Solo, groups, and what this page is not

Solo is the cleanest way to learn pause-to-repair because you own every shop click. Groups (up to 18) add DPS and also add people who will never pause. If the lobby will not freeze to repair, leave and run solo until the habit is muscle memory.

This page is not a Gold farm. Codes (19MVISITS and 900KMEMBERS, 250 Gold each as of September 2026) and the AFK ZONE place do not place a wall. Park for idle Gold on the AFK Zone page when you are done fighting. Come back to Invasion when you want the wood to survive.

The gate is a timer you buy with leftover coins after range is online. A turret garden at wave 12 is a funeral you scheduled early. Pause when the boards chip, jump the green floor, loot crates on a dead lane, and let builders work while you still have a weapon that deletes the next pack. That is the whole protect-base skill. Everything else is a wave guide pretending the wood will wait.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, waves, classes, and bosses.

What am I actually defending in Cat Invasion?

The wooden base. Cats chew walls and end the run even if your avatar is still standing. Walls, builders, and turrets exist to keep meme cats off that wood. See How to Play for pause shopping.

Should I buy walls before range upgrades?

No. Follow melee to about 200 coins, then range, then merchant coin boosts, as on the upgrade planner and the wave 100 route. Buy walls and builders when the wood is actually taking hits.

Is brick wall a base upgrade or armor?

Armor. Brick wall sits around 1,750 coins on the body-armor row. Placing walls and paying builders is a separate pause-shop row that repairs the wooden gate.

Do I need the +3 Turret Limit gamepass to protect the base?

No. The pass costs 119 Robux and adds slots after you already place the turrets you have. It is a late-wave convenience. Prices and order are on gamepasses.

What does the green floor in the build-to-survive video mean?

Green floor is a hazard: green is bad, jump over it. Do not stand in it to repair. Green crates are separate in-run loot; grab those only when the lane is calm.

Will AFK ZONE keep my walls repaired?

No. AFK ZONE is a separate Roblox place for idle Gold. Base defense only happens in Invasion. Use the AFK Zone Gold Guide when you are done fighting.
